Damn that was intense! It's really cool you guys have started making these jams available. It's always awesome hearing some new Lightning Bolt, whether it be from 1997 or the past couple of months. Keep em coming!

PS the repetition is one of my favorite aspects of early LB... I love songs like "A Diet of Grapes and Nuts" and "LB.3,K6K3GU.GO" because their repetitiousness just makes them wicked powerful and intense

The 20 minute deal was not an experiment we did that much. Just for that track. and we took that song on tour(as yourshoesuntied found in that video) but I don't think we ever lasted 20 minutes live. We had a ten minute stomper, which I think is on a live WFMU recording from way back. But I remember it blew the power at WFMU so it may not be there. There is a studio recording of it called "The Dark Ones Parade", unreleased. Basically the end of Wee Ones Parade drawn way out....

I like imposing time constraints on things though because it forces you out of a comfortable and natural zone

22ish minutes also happens to be the length of a 90 minute cassette tape recorded on high speed. And you can squeeze it on a vinyl record. It's a good length.

Since listening to 20 many times, it's got me listening to my Yellow Album LP more. I always loved Fleeing the Valley of Whirling Knives but tracks like Mistake and Into the Valley sound even better than they used to
Still haven't managed to listen to Zone, And Beyond all the way through yet lol
